At Temple Adath Or, we’re honored to share our sacred space with Zen, also known as CatTikvah or PKitty, our beloved resident kitty.
In Judaism, all creatures are seen as part of God’s creation, each with its own spark of holiness and purpose. It feels like a special blessing that Zen chose us, inviting us gently into her world and allowing us to be guests in her home. Her quiet presence reminds us of the beauty of peaceful coexistence and the mitzvah of caring for all living beings.
Zen is not just a cat; she is a furry embodiment of hope (Tikvah) and a beloved soul who brings sweetness, comfort, and a touch of divine grace to our community.
And while she may sometimes act like the true rabbi of the building, inspecting every meeting and making sure all laps are adequately occupied, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
After all, in her eyes, we’re the lucky ones to have such a discerning spiritual guide.
