Selichot - Poems of Forgiveness

As the month of Elul comes to a close, our efforts toward Teshuva (a return to the truth of who we are) intensify. From the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah, there is an old custom of offering special prayers each midnight through Yom Kippur. These prayers are called Selichot (poems of forgiveness) and are appeals to God to help us to forgive, clear and renew.

Beginning at 9:00 p.m., Rabbi Marc will lead us through singing, chanting, praying and cleansing. As is our tradition at TAO, the Mikvah ritual (immersion in the pool) will be part of the Selichot program, so please bring your bathing suit and towel.
