TAO Haiti Mission
June 7-13
Letters from Father MichelOrphanage PhotosWork PhotosTrip Details

Join Rabbi Marc and TAO on a mission to Haiti.

How many times have you watched the news and silently commented to yourself, "That's terrible. I wish there was something I could do." Well, now there is. Join Rabbi Marc and other TAO members on a mission to Haiti. Through Father Michel's good work, we identified that we can help rebuild the orphanage's massive rubble heap into livable conditions.

Will you join us? While we are searching for architects, contractors, people in construction, brick layers, medical personnel and the like, the only real requisite is that you are willing and able to participate in manual labor.

This mission is not for those who have compromised health or immune systems as you may be exposed to airborne health threats. Please be cautious and make sure you are well enough to handle the elements and the physical labor required.

This is not a resort activity. We cannot guarantee what your living or sleeping conditions will be. Nor can we guarantee you will have three square meals a day.

According to CDC (Center for Disease Control), "Before visiting Haiti, you may need to get vaccinations and medications for vaccine-preventable diseases and other diseases you might be at risk for at your destination. Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities. To have the most benefit, see a health-care provider at least 4-6 weeks before your trip to allow time for your vaccines to take effect and to start taking medicine to prevent malaria, if you need it." Please read CDC's article online for the latest information for Haiti relief workers.

We are trying to block a group of airline seats. Though you will be responsible for your own airfare and incidental costs, please call soon as we need to get an idea of how many people plan to go so that we can negotiate lower airfares.

For more details, call Rabbi Marc.
